Privacy Policy

No user accounts

Rentarctica does not offer user accounts, sign-up, or saved profiles. Every visitor uses the site anonymously.

What we collect

• An anonymous, randomly generated session identifier, stored only in your browser's local storage. It contains no personal information and is never linked to your name, email or any account.
• Calculator inputs you choose to provide (duration, city, budget and similar preferences), associated only with that anonymous session identifier, so we can measure how the calculator is used and improve it.
• When you click through to a retailer or rental provider, we record that click (destination, placement on the page, and the anonymous session identifier) to understand which recommendations are useful.

Analytics

Where enabled, Rentarctica uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage (pages viewed, search terms, calculator completions). Google Analytics operates under its own privacy policy. We do not use this data for advertising targeting, and we do not sell or share it with third parties beyond the analytics provider itself.

Cookies and local storage

The anonymous session identifier is stored in your browser's local storage, not a tracking cookie. If an analytics provider is enabled, it may set its own cookies as described in that provider's policy.

Third-party links

Rentarctica links out to retailers (including Amazon, as described in our affiliate disclosure) and rental providers. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
